ROSALEE + SARAH

Word Artists

In the fall of 2020, Rosalee and Sarah met to write together on a Zoom call. That moment sparked what would become The Plumb Collective.

Sarah offered a true extension of friendship when she invited Rosalee to write with her. She had a sense that Rosalee needed something, but she didn't know what that was. So she gave what felt comfortable and enjoyable to give: writing. When they met on the Zoom call, Sarah showed Rosalee how she used writing to connect with herself and other people by starting with a shared prompt, writing independently, then reading the writing aloud and witnessing each other.

Rosalee offered Sarah their unique way of listening and sensing. Rosalee read Sarah’s energy as Sarah read the words she had just written. Rosalee shared specific things felt in and under Sarah’s words and offered to read her photos. Rosalee can look at a photo and know details and stories of someone’s life and how they feel. Rosalee is able to give language to things that seem imperceptible.

When they met to write together, Rosalee was beginning to explore offering photo readings as a service, not just a party trick or something done for beauty clients and friends. Sarah was willing and interested in exploring this cool idea with Rosalee. They had a wildly accurate and interesting photo reading experience that quickly deepened their connection.

The line between Rosalee and Sarah strengthened as they continued writing together, witnessing each other, and having a fun, squirrely time. Rosalee was also reading photos for people from all over the world and talking to Sarah about concepts they were discovering.

During photo readings, Rosalee told their clients the stories of their lives by reading their photos. When people heard their stories told in a neutral energy, it cleared something for them. It integrated something. Self love and gentleness became available in places where shame, control, and self hatred had hunkered down and made a home.

Reading photos in this way was intense at times, both for Rosalee and their clients. Rosalee was kind and gentle, but the truth of their words sometimes rocked people to their core.

At the same time, Rosalee and Sarah continued writing together, playing with different styles of writing to experience and express themselves in new, creative ways. Writing stories from their lives allowed them to read their own words, feel their own feelings, and see themselves from new perspectives. Writing became a feeling practice.

Through continued conversation and collaboration, Rosalee and Sarah shifted and followed their curiosity. They allowed creativity and intuition to guide them. They went towards what felt interesting.

Incrementally and over time, other ways to achieve the effects of photo readings became clear: ways that protect Rosalee's energy while guiding the most people in the most gentle way possible. From the concepts discovered through both photo readings and writing together, Rosalee and Sarah developed Plumb Practice, Plumb Prism, and Plumb Point as three paths to the same destination: knowing yourself more fully.

As they continue to create and expand Plumb, Rosalee and Sarah have full-feeling conversations and make agreements to themselves and each other. They honor their agreements and their friendship by their commitment to having a clear line between them. In their conversations, they are committed to using true words, believing each other, and being available to talk about anything and everything. They put all of themselves into creating Plumb. It is what they love. It is what supports them. It is the foundation of their friendship. It is their art.
