Tell the Truth

Most of us don't actually know how. We've only been told to "tell the truth" as a threat.

When you're taught from little on that to tell the truth means getting in trouble, you learn to use slippery language to get out of sticky situations.

This often turns into what we call "people pleasing," but none of the people are pleased.

We need to learn how to tell the truth.

Telling the truth is using the words that are right there. Saying what you feel.

But for a lot of us, it is not safe to tell the truth to some people in our lives because we're met with negative reactions or gaslighting.

We're not used to telling each other the truth.

We need to practice.

One way that we can practice is to write down the words that are right there. What are you thinking? What are you saying to yourself? Write it down exactly how you feel it, how you hear it inside of your head, and be willing to witness that. Read it back, see what you actually are thinking and saying.

What are the words that are right there?

That's the truth that most of us are running from.

You need to practice.

But you don't have to do it alone. Everything that I've created is about practicing telling the truth to yourself.

Pick a Starting Point and begin now.
